The guy deals with this very well- in fact what he did was exemplary and worthy of study; apart from in one way.
I know it can be hard to stay peripherally aware with the adrenaline and the urgency, but keeping his back to the door where his attacker had come out from doesn't seem tactically sound.
Had a secondary attacker come out- especially another armed one- this video could have had a very different ending.

It's easy for me to type this here, watching what happened from a comfortable chair (whilst the defender himself was engaged in a life threatening situation), but ideally he could have put his back to the car, to remain covered and aware of his environment (I know he was using the car to press the lighter criminal against).
