'Modern Antagonistics' Two-handed Umbrella/Stick Method (PDF)

Here is a module from the improvised weapon section of my upcoming 'Nouveau-Bartitsu: MMA for the Street' workshop, detailing a basic, functional use of a short stick-type weapon for survival purposes (with elements taken from historical bayonet, boxing and old savate).

Not included in the PDF (though covered in the training) are counter-grappling and weapon retention/ditching, one-handed use of the weapon, striking with the off-hand etc.

As with any tactics- especially those involving kicking- the nature of the floor surface and our 'footing'/balance should be taken firmly into account (the fact that you're carrying an umbrella, means the ground might be slippery that day!)
